Firesled Extreme Challenge
Train Like You Fight

Firesled Fitness and Training, in conjunction with the Florida Fire Conference, is seeking firefighters interested in showcasing their physical as well as mental strength and endurance. The Firesled Extreme Challenge is a unique competition that realistically simulates many of the common tasks performed at a structure fire. This competition isn’t about how much weight you can lift or how far you can run; instead it will determine how well you meet the physical demands of the job. The tasks competitors will be simulating include performing ladder carries and climbs, advancing a charged hose line, navigating over and under obstacles carrying a 65lb ladder prop, busting through a forced door with a 10lb dead blow hammer utilizing both dominate and non-dominate hands, breach ceilings to check for fire overhead, hoist and carry 20lb and 30lb equipment, and finish with a lifesaving mayday victim drag to safety.
Divisions – Male / Female
Combat Team and Sprinter individual
The Combat division will consist of teams of two required to wear full structural Firefighter ensemble including an SCBA. PPE and SCBA supplied by the competitors. The equipment must be clean and free of carcinogens. You will be required to be on air for the entire competition.
The Sprinter division is an individual event and will be required to wear a 50 lb. weight vest supplied by Firesled Fitness and a helmet and gloves supplied by the competitor. The helmet and gloves do not need to be Firefighter equipment. Athletic attire is suggested but it is at the competitor’s discretion.
