CONFERENCE

Hands-On Training (HOT)

Our focus is on quality over quantity. For our first year in Orlando, we are limiting class sizes to ensure students have the most opportunity to run drills and get the dedicated time they need with the instructors. Fireground HOT classes will be hosted off-site by the Valencia College Fire Rescue Institute Training Facility. Off-site and on-site EMS HOT classes will be available.

Conference Sessions

Something for everyone. The 3-day conference will consist of keynote general sessions and approximately three concurrent breakout sessions that will address topics for every rank and file. Keeping experience in mind, different tracks will be established to minimize the amount of conflict so attendees can maximize their learning potential.

Tradeshow

The largest conference and tradeshow in the southeast, the exhibit hall is over 150,000 square feet in size. Come visit all the leading vendors in the fire service industry, all in one place. At the Orange County Convention Center, food and beverage vendors will be made available both on the tradeshow floor and in the common areas of the conference for added convenience.

SPECIALIZED PROGRAMS

Public Information Officers

The Florida Association of Public Information Officers (FAPIO) provides training through the development and coordination of a wide range of opportunities. The PIO program offers a 3-day FEMA L0105 Public Information Officer (PIO) Basics course, 2-day Advanced PIO Skills Workshop and the one-day largest statewide PIO event known as the Florida PIO Symposium.

Emergency Vehicle Technicians

This program offers test preparation, training courses, and hosts certification/recertification examination through the Emergency Vehicle Technician Certification Commission, Inc. (EVTCC) for those who perform maintenance on emergency automobiles and apparatuses most often used in the fire service. Technicians are required to attend training and obtain certification to service these complex and life-saving vehicles.

Two Bugles and Beyond Symposium

This two-day fast paced leadership program is intended for ESLI Graduates, however, any officer from Battalion Chief to Fire Chief, career or volunteer are welcome to register. The program is designed to encourage and empower fire service leaders to grow, learn and lead. The ESLI program is a series of 2-day classes, each addressing a specific focus area or geared towards the unique needs of the fire service to give current and aspiring leaders a better foundation for their professional growth. The most highly valued benefit of this program is the ability to network and share both experiences and challenges with industry peers.
